Experts warned users of the widely used word processor Microsoft Word to utilize the safe mode application to prevent assaults by computer criminals who are employing the zero-day technique. MS Word has been a subject for
hackers and virus writers to promulgate incessant havoc and distress ruining the whole computer network of the user who accidentally opened a tainted word file. The giant software company recently launched an advisory composed of a methodological guide in operating the 2002 and 2003 versions of the application in safe mode.
Based on the said advisory, a secured mode will incapacitate the functionality while keeping weak codes from being abused, so the experts from the company suggest that users must disarm the Outlook feature if they're going to use Word. They also warned users not to open a Word document in PowerPoint, Excel, and other MS applications. They also said that saving the file in a disk or on the desktop using the "Word Safe Mode" code is a must.
