Facebook is not merely a trend, it is now a phenomenon being used by all walks of life for networking and meeting new friends. Blog Facebook gives us an offering that aims to protect our Facebook accounts.
McAfee Partners With Facebook
One of the best defenses against security threats is a good offense, and we want to help you take the offensive by having the latest security software installed on your computer. Today, we are announcing a year-long partnership with McAfee to offer all 350 million people who use Facebook the ability to download a six-month subscription to McAfee security software at no cost, along with a special discount once the six months are over.
You can take advantage of this offer by visiting the Protect Your PC tab on the McAfee Page on Facebook.
McAfee is a classic, they've been around for the longest time. There is something to be said about track record.
Check Other Security Software Reviews to Get More Details
For the rare case in which an account is compromised, we've developed a unique process that requires the account owner to take steps to secure the account and learn security best practices. We've also incorporated custom McAfee software into this process for people identified as having infected computers. Now, if your computer is infected, you will be asked to run a scan like the one shown below and clean it before accessing Facebook. We're not aware of another free Internet service that takes this much responsibility for helping people keep their accounts secure.
I get the impression that the defensive capabilities of this program is quite elementary, but that is just me, and this is just one article. I suggest you Google other security software reviews that can give further explanations. Now that I mentioned explanations, here is one blog article regarding protection for pocket PCs.
control other websites and services you visit that might infect your computer. For this reason, we recommend that you install updated security software, which you can now do at no cost through this partnership, and that you always follow these safe practices:
Don't open attachments in emails that look suspicious or come from an unknown or untrustworthy source.
Delete chain mail and spam from your email and Facebook inboxes.
Be cautious when downloading files from the Internet.
Be cautious of any message, post or link you see on Facebook that looks suspicious, requires an additional login, or asks you to download or upgrade software.
Use an up-to-date browser that features an anti-phishing blacklist. Some examples include Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.0.10.
Choose unique logins and passwords for each of the websites you use.
* Check to see that you're logging in from a legitimate Facebook page with the facebook.com domain.
Regarding the logins/passwords, I add my own tip: have a letter doubled. Example is: Kermmit instead of kermit (regardless if he's a frog or not). Password breakers will have a harder time crashing it.
If you do not have a Facebook account right now, you may find the necessity to have one anytime soon. So, it's a good idea to learn these tips as early as now.

Avast Free, the highly recommended Home Edition antivirus, just had an upgrade. Avast Professional Edition has the same multiple shields that optimize your system’s Internet security, but it comes with brand-new features. Like its free edition, Avast Professional went through third-party testing and received solid efficacy ratings. Read on for more information on the product’s pros and cons.
Virus software reviews: pros of Avast Professional Edition
It received a VB100 certification from the Virus Bulletin. It has a 100% efficacy rate for catching wild viruses and a 98% overall detection rate. Avast Professional Edition performs the functions of several security software in one system. Its file system and mail shields block potential threats that spread through e-mails, instant messages, and shareware. Software reviews: cons of Avast Professional Edition
A downside to Avast Professional Edition is that you have to pay for it. At $40, it costs a bit less than other well-known security software, such as Norton. Still, the thought of having to pay for the product may cause some users to stick to Avast Free.

Kaspersky is one of the leading Internet security brands in the market today. This is due to its impressive arsenal of security tools and its reputation as one of the most effective virus defenders and malware removers in the market. However, it does come with several cons that may leave you looking for other alternatives.
Virus software reviews: pros of Kaspersky
One of the advantages of the Kasperksy antivirus program is that it comes with a three PC version, which can protect three PCs for one year, making it very cost-effective. It also comes with hourly updates of its virus database and is easy to install. Users can choose between suggested and custom install modes, as well as a gamer mode that ensures uninterrupted play as the security system quietly works in the background.
Software reviews: cons of Kaspersky
The main gripe users have on Kaspersky is that it takes too long to finish scanning and it uses most of your PC’s memory while doing so, leaving you unable to do anything productive while the scan is going on. It is also more expensive compared to Norton Antivirus, one of its closest rivals.
For the best in Internet protection, Kaspersky is a good choice. However, like most software, it does come with its disadvantages, so better check if you can live with these problems before buying this product.

Tired of using the same old Arial, Verdana or Lucida Console every presentation you make? Here's the solution for you: download 1001 fonts now! This is free software to all computer users. May it be for personal or business purposes. You don't have to spend money and buy an original software from the store. All you need to do is download them for free. Yes, that's right. You can have a variety of thousands of fonts by just downloading them to your computer.

Having a thousand and one fonts is not an exaggeration. I know how you feel when you're experiencing font shortage. Been there; done that. Believe me, these fonts are just enough for you. But if you're more of an artsy-fartsy, these fonts are scanty. You will need these fonts to impress your office's executives during a presentation. The fonts are also very useful to any graphic and lay out provider companies. This is surely the most necessary business software for this kind of company.

1001 fonts started in the cold December 1998. Since then, the software has grown. It is now the most famous free fonts in the Internet world. To prove that, the site received over 35,000 delightful visitors every day. According to the site's statistics, their visitors have reached up to 30,000,000 already. Whether the same or different visitors every day, the software creators don't care as long as people trust them. That's what matters most to them.

Consumers and small businesses are looking for a word processing program that performs and works like MS Word, but costs a little bit cheaper. Likewise, TV, movie scriptwriters, and playwrights are looking for a word processor that will help bring a blockbuster movie without the pain of working like greyhounds overnight. There are many word processors that promise several attractive features. However, not all of them can fulfill those oaths.
Good thing we got Final Draft word processing software that is created to ease the burden of our storytellers. With this tool, they just type the scripts and it will format their articles into cinematic standards. It has an integrated thesaurus and language spellchecker. Thus, there's no worry about grammar lapses. There'll be no need to browse bulky scriptwriting books because the software has an easy to follow guide and superb features that allow you to create your wild ideas into hit flicks. As a matter of fact, most of the award-winning producers, writers, directors, and actors today dedicate their awards to the software. In some sellers and retailers, I think they sell the program for only $150. And this is actually a very affordable price compared to other nonsense processors. This program is compatible with any operating system like Microsoft and Linux.

Business and personal computer users looking for an efficient text editing and word processing program might find all the features that they need with Post-it® Digital Notes. Just like our old and trusted tiny message papers, this tool is powerful. However, it remains easy to use for both beginners and experienced users. A struggling writer, like me, will easily fall in love with this software because I can scribble whatever I have in mind easily without the worry of clutters on my desk.
Choose a different color for each topic so you won't have a hard time searching for previous notes that you'll be needing for that marketing report. The memoboard allows you to post your messages and browse them by dates and categories. You definitely won't miss a thing with its alarm list feature. Just place your note in the alarm list and the ringing alarm will remind you of the important executive meeting or luncheon party that you have to attend. Personalize notes with your own photos and artistic designs for messages that need additional attraction. If you really want to remember everything, use the search feature to look for meeting notes or better yet, display them in your screen. With the colorful pads, cute designs, plus your hot photos, office life will never boring again.

Writers sometimes have a hard time organizing their ideas and thoughts. When they feel that the flow of ideas are too sluggish, they resort to using notebooks to save electricity. But when ideas flow like waterfalls, they turn to their Toshiba portable laptops to catch every detail. It's really difficult to arrange our thoughts to create a sensible article. I, for one, use notepads to throw in the trashes in my rusting bin for a brain.
VoodooPad is a very helpful tool for writers who like to scribble their ideas immediately without opening the MS Word or OpenOffice Writer. The application is very easy to use because it works more like a web site than a text editor. Just like your crumpled notebook, you can place articles in its myriad pages, then browse them for future use. I like this tool because I can use it as an address book, scribbling pad, and reminder lists. I can keep trail of things that I wrote before and keep them safe and sound. The text styling tools are also helpful including a collection of colors, fonts, styles, alignments, lines, spacing, and more. Unlike other notepads, VoodooPad allows you to insert tables in its pages for your company financial statement plan or simple family budget chart.

Most of you worry about viruses, spyware, Trojans, and worms so much that you ignore the possibility that some nasty visitors, co-workers, and sad to say even family members are much more likely to get access to confidential and private data by simply walking up to your personal computers and looking it up. Thankfully we have ActiveScreenLock, which is the most simple and extremely effective way to safeguard our computers from unwarranted access. This cool product is a software application that makes every computer, whether a desktop or an ultra portable laptop, inaccessible even without entering a password. While Windows operating system comes with the password-protected screensaver option that may have the same function, any user with a negative motive knows that there are numerous easy methods to bypass this.
However, when the unique software is activated through clicking a tray icon or by pressing a combination of hotkeys, your PC becomes truly intrusion-proof. Even the nosiest evil computer user can't do anything with the locked computer because common key combinations like Alt+f4, Ctrl+
Alt+Del, and Winkey are also blocked. In addition to that, restarting or shutting down the computer will not disable the protection. If anyone tries to open it, the software will digitally track attempts and the fake passwords that they used.

As I've mentioned in my previous blogs, Microsoft is aiming to become the most powerful not to mention richest computer software company in the planet driven by the digital technology. Well, I think they're a step closer to their dreams because aside from suing all users who downloaded OpenOffice.Org., and I'm not aware of their reason, they'll be coming up with a new version of Microsoft Word that will enable bloggers to post blog entries directly by using the said application. I think this innovation is truly ingenious and it shows that the company is updated with the latest trends in businesses because almost all companies have their blogs aside from their website to promote their products.
The said application will be included in the Beta 2 of MS Word and might as well introduce to the robotic public early next year. This new word processor will allow bloggers like to put style on blogs like highlighting the letters and strikethrough fonts; aside from that it will be easier to upload photos that will be use for a specific entry. Before, using MS Word for blogs will result to mangled images and fonts on the actual output which no blogger would like to happen.
Now, bloggers will need not to worry about grammar errors and spelling errors of their articles since they can make use of MS Word's spell check and grammar check features. There are still some companies who uses MS Notepad than Word as of now, but maybe, just maybe, they'll employ the new MS Word once it reach the shores of our appliance centers. I just hope that this new word processor will not be infested by nasty viruses anymore.

The high demand for more supply of highly portable laptops does not necessarily mean that almost every consumers are able to reach the high price of this equipment. Even if they are selling like hotcakes like the cute but expensive personal digital assistants, there is still a big percent of individuals who does not have the means to purchase such helpful tools. But I'm not saying that companies should lower the prices of their products, since I doubt if they can do such, but I'll be more than thankful if they do so, what I mean is that there are some products available which can supplant the convenience that a laptop can provide without the stabbing price.
QuickPad IR, by the QuickPad is amongst the newest products that I'm talking about, although it won't satisfy a certified technology addict. The tool is a combined powerful force of a keyboard, scheduler and a word processor with a wireless capability and features that exist in an ordinary PDA. If you are willing to shed $199, you can take this home and enjoy writing reports and articles with the aid of its spell checking feature 25 feet away from your PC. Aside from that, this tool is dedicated to the energy wise with its power lock security that keeps a user from accidentally switching on the gadget.
However, this tool only for those who only wants a word processor which they can bring anywhere in the absence of their laptops and notebooks. Personally, I think is a good alternative for notebooks especially to non-computer addicts who does not want the complicated laptop thing. But if you are thinking of using this in editing a ten page manuscript, I would advise to get proper lighting since the tool does not have a backlight for it LCD.

People who say that writing is just a simple hobby are comparable to frogs who are having difficulty croaking or snakes who crawl by their backs and not by their bellies. Writing is not an easy job like what featherbrained people think, and it's not a simple recreational activity like crocheting or watching a Jackie Chan film because there are myriad of factors that affects this job. Writing entails intelligence, artistry, determination, patience, and a whole lot of discipline.
Many writers have had experiences of losing grip of their quill due to the shortage of words that they want to use. The thesaurus or dictionary feature of word processors is not enough to provide the best words that will help us scribblers to express our ideas and emotions in a creative and poignant way.
It's a good thing that software developers have formulated a solution to this malady by creating a software with the combined power of the dictionary and thesaurus. WordWeb Pro, unlike ordinary dictionaries found online, permits a writer to virtually metastasize words to see what he can use.
It also possess a vast collection of definitions, synonyms, antonyms, and proper usage of words to support newbie writers in their wonderful journey to the world of marginalia.

Writing entries for this immortal blog about software is my way of reaching out towards my friends and fellow business enthusiasts. It makes me feel good to share my little knowledge on computer software use for office and business enterprise that some are tried and tested by me. I'm not an endorser of such products, I'm just trying to help people to check on the right software that they have been searching for a very long time.

The Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Bill served as the turning point for business tycoons to closed their transactions online. It provides electronic signature the similar importance as to contracts or essential papers signed by the hand. Office software became the hottest commodity in town ever since computers were introduced to the public. Word processing is as easy as peeling a banana with applications like Microsoft Word, Zoho Writer, and Writely. Meanwhile, accounting task is never considered as a burden with the evolution of spreadsheets in Excel and Calc.
An enterprise without these tools will surely suffer from tremendous office hazards. Imagine a typewriter and calculator based office work and it's tantamount to a hundred rounds of a roller coaster ride. I may sound mean with this but is there any office who still uses typewriters today? Come on, we have a lot of new tools and gizmos to boot and for sure nobody would want to stay in the office because of stupid typewriters.
Microsoft office is surely the all-time favorite office suite in town. As a naked fact, the company is the first to introduced the evolutionary word processing and accounting softwares.
After a few years, new computer companies joined the bandwagon of producing office softwares. Some of which launched much updated and neoteric applications. Corel WordPerfect Office, OpenOffice.org, and ThinkFree Office are the latest addition to the fancies of computer addicts. They have the similar properties that MS Office has. There are also new applications added but I don't want to be a spoiler so it's up to you to check them out.

To be able for your business to flourish, what you have to do is to visit other places and other businesses as well to get ideas and marketing strategy. Visiting places will also help you determine where to open another branch or where to put up one of your stores. And when you're tired of the long business haul, you definitely would like to have a long and relaxing vacation somewhere.
But if you always get lost wandering from one place to another, you should realize that something about you is very, very wrong. If you think you have no sense of direction just like me, oooh, that's not something to be sneezed at pal, you've got to work on that. You should take and study street or city maps of the places you want to visit so that you won't end up seeking for police aid or pull strings next time.
However, if you are lazy enough or not the type who wants to bring a large trunk of maps, here's a better alternative. Cosmi's Street Map and Vacation Planner is a new software that can make your notebook or palmtop morph into a travel guide. Just key in the zip code, city or the address of the place and the software will provide you comprehensive maps with details including national and historical landmarks, hotels, airports, restaurants and parks. A daily planner, an address book, a scheduler, and a work diary are usually what you can find from every office person's bags aside from their wallets and cellular phones of course. These things are very helpful particularly to those who need to attend at least three thousand appointments per day. If you are one of those guys who can't live without these things, then you can now call yourself a workaholic.
But no matter how organized you are, there comes a time that you forget to attend at least three client meetings, finish five proposals, your vacation and honeymoon a dozen times. That's because you are so taken with a certain project that you don't realize you are already missing something and your trusted scheduler won't do any help. If you want to throw away that good-for-nothing-termite-prone scheduler and try something unique, then I guess it's time for me to introduce to you my hottest find.
Drum rolls please! I am using this Acute Softwares Electronic Diary. Actually, it's a gift from my brother. It has a date calculator, a time sheet generator, and an unlimited appointment recorder. I just input scheduled meetings with the date and time for the diary server to remind me. Then, when the actual date comes, the server brings out a message or an alarm an alarm that tells me that my wife will kill me if I don't fetch the laundry at four pm, even if I'm not running it. It's really a convenient way to put notes, things I have to work on my computer and what I love about it is that it tells me how long I've been staring at the blank screen of my PC monitor. If you're interested, you can check the Acute software site.

A telephone is a very important utility, if you're concerned with the development of your business. But there are some concerns you must take into action to maximize your telephone use. I know you're exasperated in warning your employee about her telephone usage. But still, she can't avoid sticking her ears to the receiver. A little bird also told me that you want some protection against prank callers and stupid criminals. You tried many recording device advertised in your television set, but they prove to be all mouth and trousers.
There are several security gadgets available that you can use to shun pranksters, goons, and even your hard headed secretary away from abusing your telephone. If a caller ID triggers your migraine attack instead of helping, I think it's time to surf the web for some effective gizmo that has all mod cons.
You can try the Ez phone Recorder Pro if you want. The software can monitor all inbound and outbound calls so you're sure who to blame for those high stack of unpaid phone bills. Kidding aside, it also has this unique feature where in you can put notes on logged conversations. This software acts just like a firewall security system as it provides maximum protection for your business.

Most businesses today are tired of their unending filing tasks. What with an enormous pile of stacks of paper to fix and organize, office life has become a dreaded scary movie turned into reality. Most of the time, irate employees resort to thinking of burning these scattered papers to ashes just to free themselves from the burden.
It's a fact that paperwork and office life are inseparable just like the Sweet Valley High Twins. An office is not a normal office without heaps of data higher than the Everest if combined, that needs to proper sorting and filing. But with useless and rusting file cabinets available, things can get worse for sure.
With the aid of technology, (thank God we have that), things were a lot easier now especially if you have the Paper Tiger software handy. Just by entering a keyword or a number in its database, you can easily file and retrieve any document that your office needs. You can now throw away those tetanus-inducing-old file cabinets and enjoy your office made in paradise. The software is a product from two blessing in disguised companies namely The Monticello Corporation and The Kiplinger Washington Editors, Inc.

Since their lives are purely centered on that electronic box, they look for ways on how to maximize its use while saving more time and energy without compromising the quality of their service. Through the years, several tools and applications were developed, that promise to ease the burden of a job that depends on computers.
If you enjoyed Flashnote, that bloody brilliant rough copy utility that is use during work process, to write and save precious ideas that float in your gray matter, without the fear of destroying important data. Therefore, I'm dead sure you'll also have a great time writing your documents with Flashnote's brother called Flashpaste.
Flashpaste is the latest variety of text copying tool. With Flashpaste, users can save commonly used addresses, text blocks, codes, words, phrases, and paragraphs in the tool. The text blocks or codes can be added by pressing the shortcut key to open a list, and navigate to a chosen article to insert a certain phrase. With Flashnote and Flashpaste in hand, you'll be able to accomplish more jobs before you can say "Catch!"
